Tha Kount Tharr - poet (Myanmar)

Tha Kount Tharr is taking part in the workshop "Violent Memories - Transformation and Trauma" in Yangon/Myanmar in April 2017 which is an collaboration of the Sylt Foundation and the Burma-based electronic arts journal Be Untexed.

Tha Kount Tharr is a poet, writer and translator who is in his early thirties. His real name is Min Gaung and he works in a company. He’s also a Youtube singer with the name ‘Group Justus.’ His works can be seen in periodicals including Idea, Hnin Si Phyu, and Aw Than. He has also collaborated with other poets in several poetry anthologies including Nje, Double Poetry Project, Taw Hlan Kyaung, and Burmese Contemporary Poetry (volume-4). He loves photography and cooking. He writes songs and short stories. He’s trying to publish his debut poetry collection in 2016 and it will be in Burmese and English.

He is also amongst the contributors of the Burma-based electronic arts journal Be Untexed.
