Ibrahim Yusuf erhält das Förderstipendium der Deutschen Botschaft Abuja für junge nigerianische Maler. Die Sylt Foundation ist Partner des Förderprogramms und begrüßt Ibrahim Yusuf im Mai 2016 für einen Monat als Stipendiaten in Rantum auf Sylt.

Ibrahim Yusuf was born on the 15th march 1987 in Enugu State Nigeria. He grew up in Enugu state and began painting at the age of 12. He studied art in Auchi Polytechnic 2002-2003 where he obtained his National diploma in painting / general art. His works over the past years have received awards and he has participated in several group exhibitions.

He is very skillful and well known for his wood burning art (pyrography) the art of decorating wood with fire.

First prize: buddy bear design competition organized by German Embassy 2015.

Secondary Prize: National Visual Art Competition. 2013 National Gallery Abuja.

Third Prize: national Visual Art Competition: 2012 National Gallery Abuja.
