Mae Yway - poet (Myanmar)

Mae Ywayis taking part in the workshop "Violent Memories - Transformation and Trauma" in Yangon/Myanmar in April 2017 which is an collaboration of the Sylt Foundation and the Burma-based electronic arts journal Be Untexed.

Mae Yway: “Occasionally I write poetry. Sometimes I don’t even happen to write one in a month. What I love is that Poetry is Making. Poetry is a worry between consciousness and unconsciousness. Poetry is a journey to discover yourself. In fact, Poetry is you.”

Mae Yway was born in Myeik. Her poems have appeared in periodicals and poetry collections since 2010. Her debut poetry book (Kabya Kyone Par Lite Tal) was published in June, 2013. Her duet poetry book with Cho Pain Naung titled “Shin Hnint Kyama” was recently published in July, 2016.

She is also amongst the contributors of the Burma-based electronic arts journal Be Untexed.
